The most improtant thing to do is practice jacking up and changing a tire in your drive way or storage area before hand so you are comfortable with the procedures and have the right tools when faced with a flat while towing.

He Ruide > If attached to the tow vehicle, apply the parking brakes, turn on the flasher, and put the transmission in Park (automatic) or 1st gear (manual)
He Ruide > No adult, child or pet should go under the PUP while it is only supported by the jack.. Lower the PUP unto appropriate weight rated jack stands if you need to work on or under an elevated PUP for any length of time.
He Ruide > Using 2 by 2 as jack stands is not a good idea
