Turn the handle until the zero on the handle lines up with the 10 pound graduation (e.g. 20 pound). If needed continue turning the handle to increase the force by one pound increments.

Ensuring that the lug nuts have been torque correctly is one the most important things for safe towing. Unfortunately, like weighing or checking tire pressure must PUP owners do not check lug nut torque. Hopefully, this will remove some of the mystery of torquing.

He Ruide > These are the tools you will need. The top is a lug wrench. In the middle is a torque wrench. At the bottom are lug nut socket and i/2 inch extension bar.

He Ruide > These are two different torque wrenches. The top one is a Craftsman while the bottom one is an inexpensive one from Harbor Freight.

He Ruide > Both torque wrenches have markings on the shaft with the pound/kilograms of force. For example the shaft marking goes up in increments of 10 pounds. The top of the handle has makings from 0 to 9. Turn the handle until the zero lines up with the right 10 pound increment (e.g., 20, 30, 50). If needed continue turning to increase the force in one pound increments (e.g., 22, 35, 77 pounds).

He Ruide > Use a lug tool to loosen the lug nuts. You should not use the torque wrench to loosen the lugs or as a socket wrench. Also do not torque a wheel that is hot.

He Ruide > Turn the locking ring anti-clockwise to loose the handle.

He Ruide > Turn the handle until the zero on the handle lines up with the 10 pound graduation (e.g. 20 pound). If needed continue turning the handle to increase the force by one pound increments.

He Ruide > Turn the locking ring clockwise to lock the handle in place.

He Ruide > Torque sequence Stage 1 - Fleetwood recomends 20 to 25 foot pounds for all steel and aluminum wheels. Gently turn the wrench until you hear/feel a click. At this point you have torque the lug nut to the setting you selected. Stop turning and the wrench will reset itself.
