The BAL Leverler screw wasn't that dirty but I decided to switch from white grease to the NLG#2 grease that I use for the lift system and bearing. The first step was to spray both the screw and net with engine degreaser.
The next step was to remove all the grease that was inside the thread.
Yeah I know you can't really tell the difference before and after but it is now pretty clean.
With my grease gun, I applied dabs of grease to both the screw and the nut.
By runing the nut up and down the shaft I got the screw greased.
Ready to be re-inserted.
But first I cleaned out the area that the end of the screw sits in.
I used a screw driver to remove any old grease.
Another dab of grease.
All cleaned and re-greased.
Final step is to cover the screw with insulating foam. By thighening the wing screw and can actully carry the BAL Leveler by holding on to the foam and not get any grease on my hands.
